Our Story

We're Nordico Coffee Roasters & Coffee House from Tamarindo, Guanacaste, founded in 2016. Nordico is first and foremost a specialty coffee roastery: we work exclusively with Costa Rican coffee and roast it at origin, close to the farms, harvests and producers behind every cup. Our coffee is roasted at our roastery, brewery and drive-thru in La Garita Nueva / Huacas and served at our flagship cafe in Plaza Tamarindo, while our coffee bags, subscriptions and ready-to-drink coffee travel worldwide. The whale is our symbol of the connection Nordico builds across places and cultures.

Our Philosophy

Coffee is our way to care for people and place. It is the medium through which Nordico connects people with Costa Rica, its producers, biodiversity and craft. Good people drink good coffee, and hospitality is not an extra, it is how Nordico works.

Mission & Vision

To share exceptional Costa Rican specialty coffee, roasted at origin, with the world, while giving every coffee a direct, transparent connection to the people and places behind the cup. We invest in long-term partnerships, farming practices we believe in and our community, with an INA-educated, SCA-trained team, fair wages and support for ADI Tamarindo, Clean Wave and local schools.

Approach to Quality

We build long-term relationships with co-ops and farms across Guanacaste/Nicoya, Tarrazú, Dota, Palmichal, Poás, Brunca and the Central Valley, prioritizing repeatable quality over one-off trophies. Every lot is cupped and profiled, and we publish process, variety, altitude and roast approach. Roast profiles are developed to respect each lot and make its origin clear in the cup. We roast and ship fresh every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
